About John.
Born in November 11th, 1959 John De Ruiter was raised by two Dutch immigrants along with his brother and two sisters in Stettler, Alberta, Canada. As a child, he was known as a mischievous boy; he frequently got into trouble because of his curiosity. He had a knack for crafts and carpentry, and was encouraged to pursue a career in craftsmanship. But as he grew, he began to isolate himself more and more, spending more time in the house than out the house.
John had his first awakening at 17, describing it as a “amazing, wonderfully life-giving” experience that lasted for about half a year. He then decided to commit himself to finding that same feeling that helped enlightened him on reality. For two years, he was unable to do anything but feel lost and never-ending pain, but felt that he couldn’t back out and go back to living a normal life again. Soon, it became difficult for John and his parents to live together, and the solution was for him to move out to Red Deer in Alberta. As a 19 year old young adult, he had more freedom to practice his religious idealism, following Biblical ethics, and imposing his righteous demands onto himself and the others around him. His daily routine consisted of reading and work, and while reading, found himself drawn to the Biblical revelation of Christianity. Inspired, he then decided to pursue an official qualification in New Testament Greek Language, and passed with a high mark of 93%. He broke off his connections to th Christian church, and formed his own group of followers who would come to meet regularly in John's home. He continued to spread his beliefs to more cultures by traveling and visiting different countries. The College of Integrated Philosophy was finally established as the center for John's meetings and seminars in 2003, and is continuing to become a second home to John and his community. |
